DANMAP
In Denmark the work with antimicrobial resistance in food animals,
foods, and humans is in the international forefront.
DANMAP is the Danish Programme for surveillance of antimicrobial
resistance in bacteria from livestock, foods, and humans.
The DANMAP 2006 Report is now available.
VetStat is the national system for monitoring the usage of drugs for
animals.
DANMAP - the Danish Integrated Antimicrobial resistance
Monitoring and Research Programme
The Danish Integrated Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring and
Research Programme (DANMAP) was established by the Danish Ministry
of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and the Danish Ministry of Health
in 1995. The objectives of the programme are to:
- Monitor the occurrence of antimicrobial resistance
- Monitor consumption of antimicrobial agents
- Investigate associations between use of antimicrobial agents in animals and humans and occurrence of resistance among bacteria from animals, foods, and humans
DANMAP report annually on the occurrence of antimicrobial resistance in zoonotic, indicator, and pathogenic bacteria from animals, foods, and humans in Denmark.
